Snowsports

On the Slopes and in Their Element

With two ski fields right on our doorstep, snowsports are an iconic part of the Mackenzie College experience. Each winter, our students embrace the opportunity to ski and snowboard at Mt Dobson and Roundhill. With weekly sessions during Term 3 and trained staff instructors on hand, students develop technical skills, confidence, and a real love for the snow. For many, it’s a highlight of the year—combining adventure, friendship, and fresh air in one unforgettable experience. Several students also go on to earn their ski instructor qualifications, turning their passion into future opportunities.

Snowsports in Our Backyard

Mackenzie College is uniquely placed near Mt Dobson and Roundhill ski fields, giving students easy access to world-class slopes. Each Wednesday during Term 3, around 70 students take to the mountains for an exciting day of skiing or snowboarding. These adventures are not only a highlight of the school year but also help foster strong friendships and unforgettable memories.

Skills, Support, and Opportunity

Snowsports are a valued part of our school culture, supported by four trained staff ski instructors who guide and encourage students of all levels. Several students have even taken the opportunity to complete their instructor qualifications. Whether learning for the first time or honing existing skills, Mackenzie College students embrace the snow with enthusiasm, challenge, and confidence.
