Our District

Mackenzie College provides year 7-13 schooling to an extensive catchment area

The majority of our students arrive at school by bus from communities such as Tekapo, Rollesby, Cave, Albury, Ashwick, Sherwood, Winscombe. We have a close working relationship with our primary feeder schools – Tekapo Primary, Fairlie Primary, St Joseph’s of Fairlie, and Albury. Along with Mt Cook Primary, we form the Mackenzie Kāhui Ako (Community of Learning). We also currently have students in attendance from further afield, including students who have graduated from Cannington Primary and Pleasant Point Primary.

Our district is well known for the proactive support our communities provides for its members and the warmth with which it welcomes newcomers. If you are new to the district we suggest you make yourself known to the Fairlie Resource Centre (Heartlands) or join the various community Facebook groups available (Fairlie Recycles or  Lake Tekapo Trading).

Our district boasts an incredible diversity of stunning natural beauty. Its unique features and location provide ideal conditions for fishing, astronomy, ice skating, skiing, tramping, photography, hunting, farming, water skiing, yachting, camping, movie productions, swimming, pies, mountain biking and much more.
